Maximizing the efficiency of your part processing starts with choosing the right finishing equipment. At PDJ Vibro, we have the expertise and equipment to help you reach your production goals. While both vibratory bowls and troughs are commonly used for part processing, there are some key differences that make each one better suited for certain processes. In this blog, we'll take a look at the different types of vibratory bowls and troughs, and help you determine which one is the best solution for your needs.

Streamline Parts Processing

Vibratory Bowls:

Vibratory bowls are designed to process small to medium sized components and are typically used for high energy applications such as deburring, radiusing, and descaling. There are three main types of vibratory bowls to choose from:

EVP: Vibratory Bowl Finishing Machine, Without Unload (plain bowl): This special machine is designed without an integrated screening device and is known for its high abrasive efficiency and good surface finishing. It features a special design heavy-duty electric vibration motor and continuously adjustable vibration control, as well as a high durable hot-poured polyurethane lining. This unit is suited for smaller and larger components (subject to chamber size) hand unload only.

EVP-A: Vibratory Bowl Finishing Machine with Parts Unload, (no rise in chamber): This machine features a quick-change separation unit, as well as a special design heavy-duty electric vibration motor. It can also be used in conjunction with other machinery and has optional variable speed control, pneumatic controlled separation flap and automatic process control. This unit allows smaller and larger comments (subject to chamber size) but has automatic parts unload.

EVP-RA: Vibratory Bowl Finishing Machine, with Parts Unload (with rise in chamber): This machine also features a quick-change separation unit. It also features a special design heavy-duty electric vibration motor, as well as the option for variable speed control, pneumatic controlled separation flap and automatic process control. The EVP-RA models have a high abrasive efficiency and excellent separation due to their integrated ramp. This unit is suited to smaller components that can be automatically unloaded.

EVT / BPT: Vibratory Troughs:

Vibratory troughs are designed to process long and delicate components where part on part damage is likely. These rectangular machines are known for their high abrasive efficiency and good surface finishing, thanks to the specially designed heavy-duty electric vibration motor. The troughs also have optional features such as PLC controls, variable speed control, acoustic suppression covers, chemical additive dosing, and effluent control. The troughs can also be sectioned with divider plates to reduce the risk of damage to delicate parts.
